Help Me!!!

There are some profiles that are simply amazing and then there are profiles that are seemingly perfect. Although your profile isn't perfect your stats are beyond amazing. Attending USAMO is considered a huge plus with admissions to MIT, and even more attended USAMO twice. Although this might not be a hook it comes close. Your ECs show an extreme degree of dedication, and overall flawless. You don't have a laundry list which I personally like, unlike many CCers. Greats stats and overall I have to say you are definitely a big competitor in admissions to MIT. All I have to say is see you in the applicant pool next year (metaphorically of course).

What is this?????????????......May you help me please just a bit....I"m still in Honor class and my GPA is about 3.6 or 3.7...I'm scared.....I"m a FReshmen by the way...but May you help me please just abit about how can you handdle a lot of AP classes and how do you get all of that excellent stuff...?....please help me

and plus..I"m a log tutor and I"m running for historian for my club(hopefully I'll win)......but how can you become like that please help

You just have to do what you love, and show your passion for it. I just relaly love doing math. Also, make sure to maintain high GPA and get good test scores...

BUMP help guys!

but how..I tried my hard I got 3.8 and last semester I got 4.00 but My dumb couselor still put me in Honor class...Sheesh....I told her I want AP class but she told me to wait.....plus she is gonna retire this year....

and I took PSAT...my score is....nah...plus I just came here only 1 year..(my first year actually)...and Will I be able to go to UCLA?.

it is 308...I went back to look at my report card again

Exactly how did you manage to get a 308?

3.80...sorry

hahaha..I typed it wrong....that is impossible to get 308 right?

pim_ping: I thought you were typing your PSAT scores. But either way, psat or gpa, it is impossible to get a 308. What were your scores on the PSAT? You seem to have an urgent need for help, but with what?

are you still there?

I'm still in Freshmen year actually....but I got 3 more years to prepare(-_-)...but I got scared about this....I still have honor class...I should have AP class right now if I wanna go to UCLA

I have yet to take an AP class and I will be a Junior next year. It hasn't killed my chances of getting accepted to my schools of choice. Does your school allow other Freshman to take AP classes? A lot of schools don't allow you to take these types of courses until you are a Junior or Senior. They aren't going to reject you just because you didn't take AP classes your freshman year. Just to be sure to take AP classes later on. You need some good extracurricular activities. Get into some clubs and get a leadership position, start doing something that you have a really large passion for. Start studying for the SAT if you did that poorly on the PSAT. And stop worrying so much. You are still a freshman; you have a long way to go. If you need any additional help please start your own thread because I don't want to steal this person's thread...

Sorry, I awayed from my deck

pim_ping UCLA doesn't even look at your freshman year, so you really shouldn't worry too much about it (though it will affect your class rank). You can make your own thread by clicking new thread in the top lefthand corner of your screen (when you're in the What Are My Chances forum).

Meatlovers, you do seem like an excellent candidate for MIT. If there is again an essay about a time you have been disappointed (I believe it was a prompt to prove you can handle setbacks and will thrive in a tough environment), I would write about your grandmother's illness. Your stats are great, just do your essays well and sound passionate. Oh, and for your own peace of mind and to maybe save yourself the trouble of applying elsewhere since you have a definite first choice, apply early!
