I haven’t seen one yet.
I’m applying too. Good luck.
Hey here, I also applied. I don’t see many people here
@NG0000 and @username31415926 goodluck!! What majors did you guys apply to? I applied as a computer science and engineering major!
@uclashmeed I applied as a chem major. Coming from community college
Stats: 1520 SAT (800 math, 720 EBRW)
800 SAT math II
750 SAT physics
4.0 GPA
Short but good list of extracurriculars
Where else did you apply?
The deadline is extended!
I also applied. Does anyone know when the decisions come out?
Decisions come out early May
They usually come out May 4th (pun intended).
Might be later this year since they extended the application deadline
I applied for Nuclear Science and Engineering. I’m 22 and have completed two years of university at a UC.
I’m currently a technical engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, an MIT spin-off company developing fusion energy. I’m also an alumni of the MIT Summer Research Program 2018, where I performed significant research at the Nuclear Science and Engineering department that was just published late last year.
During high school, I built a neutron-generating fusion reactor in my bedroom.
I’m currently taking a break from my studies to work and research at MIT. I will be resuming research this summer with my faculty mentor at MIT at the NSE while also working part-time at CFS. Hopefully COVID-19 does not ruin this opportunity, all the labs are currently closed.
Completing my studies at MIT would allow me to continue working for CFS and performing research at the NSE.
I have a recommendation from MIT faculty mentor, an NSE Professor and a rec from my current supervisor, one of the co-founders of CFS.
It is my dream to study at MIT and contribute to the fusion energy effort. Good luck everyone!
hack into MIT’s system and release admissions decision challenge 2k20
Hi I planted an acorn and it turned into a big white oak tree, but I also applied to MIT but I really cannot compete with these level of advanced extracurriculars that some of you guys have!
I wish the best luck for everyone here :)))))
Does MIT usually notify in advance when they’ll release the results? Or do they normally just send an email right when the decisions are up (presumably May 4th)?
MIT has been releasing decisions on May 4th in the past few years. The only time they did on May 3rd was because the 4th was a Saturday, which means that there is a good chance that we are hearing back next Monday, unless COVID has caused some delay.
4 days left!
Well, they could release decisions today. Because if they’re gonna be ready to be released on Monday morning, might as well release them on Friday night, and spare us anxiety over the weekend . I just hope
@cauchyschwarz19 literally that would make my day and weekend! I’d rather get the decision now and move on with life haha
@hsc927 haha
Btw its confirmed May 4 3:14 PM.
Best of luck everyone
