I think you have a pretty good shot at UCB and UCLA, you're in state and the SAT score is very solid. That GPA is also terrific, so those could definitely be acceptances. MIT is MIT, enough said. The SAT might be a bit low for MIT, but your grades look damn good. good luck.

every thing is great but some low APs, i think you have a 40in, 60out chance at almost every school you applied. good luck.
you gonna get in 3 or 4 of them anyway.

yea, i'm ELC, but that only guarantees a spot at at least 1 of the UCs, not necessarily one of my choice. ive only received guaranteed admission from UC Irvine and Merced.

can neone answer the AP question? i thought they can't hurt admission chances?

Personally, I think the AP scores will hurt you. Your biggest assets are high UC GPA and school rank. However, the AP scores don't seem to match your high school records. Those scores seem to suggest that academics in your high school isn't as strong as desired, therefore discrediting the high GPA/rank to some extent.

Additionally, I have a feeling that UC's place more weight on SAT II's and AP's in terms of standard tests, since they provide a better assessment on what you have learned in high school.

For reasons above, I think both UCB and UCLA are reaches for you. UCD is probably match. The rest are pretty much safeties.

Anyway, this is just my personal opinion. Wish you the best of luck.

Since the IB and AP exams are geared toward different things, why would you take so many AP Exams instead of IB Exams? I know for higher level classes you don't take exams until senior year and so they won't help you in college admissions but being a higher level candidate with two pretty good SL exam grades is better than some noncompetitive AP scores. I think only barely passing two AP exams and failing four will really hurt you at some schools since, as eddie said, they just discredit your GPA since your grades are really awesome but your AP scores aren't so hot.

I self-reported my AP scores, but never sent them to any of those schools (except Berekely and MIT). A UCSD admission officer told me that my AP scores can't hurt me because nowhere on their formula is "AP scores", does neone know if the other UC schools are like that too?

You're right that the UC cutoff formula doesn't inlude AP scores. They can't because not all schools offer them. However, in the overall context it does matter because in the MIT admissions pool, you'll be up against people with multiple 4's and 5's. I don't think your scores will hurt you for most of the UC schools, but for MIT, I think it will.
