MIT vs Stanford vs Caltech

which of these schools would be best for math and economics/finance. I would like to go into mathematical finance if that helps

All are very hard to get into. Apply to all three and see what your choices are in April.

I would have said MIT or CalTech until I saw your economics/finance slant … Stanford is the business school of the three.

i was leaning towards stanford and mit. please include why you suggest that

Stanford’s business school is one of the best but Caltech’s focus in mainly math and science. Heck, does Caltech even teach business. I don’t know much of MIT but I understand they are much like Caltech in their main focus of math of science. They appear to have a basic undergrad business program but it’s not their focus.

Stanford has one of the top business schools in the country.

i think it doesnt go “i choose where i wanna go” . you apply to all of them, and when accepted , THEN choose. You cant fail with any of these choices. Get accepted and then we talk it over

for finance, eco, and math, its hard to beat MIT. Stanford is good enough. don’t know anything bout caltech but their math must be rigorous…
for undergrad, MIT is the best in the world for this combination. (yes, MIT’s undergrad business >>> Stanford’s)

I don’t think you’re using that notation correctly.

If you’re looking for a business major with a technical/engineering slant, Georgia Tech might be a good school to apply to as well. Warning: Tech is easier to get in than it is to get OUT!

MIT’s economics and maths are both a little superior to both Stanford and Caltech. Despite that, I would recommend Stanford for the college experience.
