MIT WISE fly-in 2019

there aren’t very many discussions I can find for this class (c/o 2020) for the fly-in program so I figured I’d make one! Even though the application was due last night, I thought it would still be cool to talk to people who applied. Good luck, everybody!!

Thanks and good luck

Thanks! Since sending in the application the stress has been high, can’t wait for after college apps are submitted.

I also applied. Do you know when results come out or when the MIT application comes out?

Mid August

I am thinking by the 21st

Anyone else get their decision emails?

Yeah. Rejected as expected

Rejected.

Anyone wanna post stats??

I had pretty decent stats but I think maybe cuz I’m middle class and Asian, even though it would be a lot financially to go visit. No fee waiver either

rejected rip lol

I got in! I can’t believe it.
Congrats to anyone else that did!

I got in!!! See you there on September 15-17!!! YAYYYYYYY

I was accepted!! sept. 29 - oct. 1

stats:
I identify as african-american. not first-generation for college. I’ve taken 3 ap tests (scored 4s and 5s). I did dual enrollment last year and am doing it this year as well. scored a 1440 on SAT (790M + 650RW).
I spent the summer going into junior year doing some medical research and volunteering. I spent this summer doing a JROTC national academic tournament and working.

Some extra-curriculums: I’m president of FBLA and a member of Beta Club + NHS. I work with a bunch of environmental organizations to raise awareness. I’ve won a lot of Chinese speaking awards + help sub/translate Chinese shows. Also some other things too, but I don’t feel the need to name everything.

I got into the September 15-17 session too! I’m excited to meet new people
