are you done/close to being done?

i'm "done" but i have quite a bit of editing

oh
haha, yeah i looked mine over so much
i'm still really nervous about it

HMM do any of you know how WTP is looked at with other schools besides MIT?

I'm excited-just finished my app today! My biology teacher will give me his completed rec on Tuesday, and then I'll send it in.

It's finally coming true...at least a little.

@Narcissa: I don't know, but from looking at Facebook groups of past WTP (I think there's only 05 and 06), every person got into a great school, the vast majority to MIT, also USC, BYU, Brown, and a couple to Harvard.

bump (10char)

hey everyone.
i just noticed that on the application it says
Applicant is currently in the 11th Grade. (If not in 11th grade, do not apply to WTP)
doesn't say anything about being a girl :O lol
and what makes a generic recommendation???

what do you mean by generic recommendation?

Wouldn't it just be a letter identifying your strengths and why you would be a good match for whatever program?

yeah but that would be a generic college recommendation--just this student is great, blahblahblah. my teacher just listed what she liked about me. but obviously she would like me cuz i asked to write my rec???

BTW im looking for a nickname to write on the "preferred name" line--(my real name is jennifer) so what do u think?

and how many other programs are u applying for?

i wonder if guys apply, as a joke

It says on the first informational page: Who should Apply?
-Female high school students in grade 11....blah blah blah

I just sent my app in! I'm pretty excited-it seems so close.

i didn't yet!! still needa get my teachers to finish their recs. SLOW PROCRASTINATING TEACHERS!!

how many other programs are you applying to?

A 2-week piano intensive, a job at a local biotech company, and if all else fails, a TA at a local smart kids summer school.

If I don't get into WTP, no matter where I go anywhere else, I'll probably participate in the Young Shakespeare Workshop, something I've done since frosh summer.

So I feel pretty set-but my top choice is definitely WTP!

Suddenly, I reconsidered my options and decided not to apply to WTP. With time constraints, doubts of admission (possible over-qualification; I've done everything in the MechE track), and other plans, I wish everyone else applying the best of luck for this summer!

-1 from the competition :)

Well, techno, hopefully we will see you some other time-perhaps at MIT, even!

everything else has an "official" sign in their title; we need one.

haha you guys all sent it in...i still have to =) one more day!! just gluing stamps on and all :)

what did you write about for question 3? just curious.

I wrote about playing piano for my school's jazz choir.

i wrote about making stuff out of duct tape :)

i wrote about playing piano too =)

and yay! all sent ! (cept my transcript =O, which my GC will send )
