Hi so I'm an eager JUNIOR just wondering if I'm on the right path for the following schools:

I'm pretty sure my recs will be pretty strong. I'm pretty sure my counselor, physics teacher, and chinese teacher really like me.

Thanks!

I dont think you’ll have much trouble at any state school. It would be surprising for you not to make it to Berkeley, UCLA, or U of I. Equally surprising is if you dont get into one of the ivies. The research programs make you stand out at the engineering schools.

I will also add that it might benefit you to only say that you are White. And take off the references to involvement in Asian organizations/honors since they have a possibility of hurting your chances.

MIT - Slight Reach (40% chance or so)
Caltech - Slight Reach
Berkeley - Match/Safety (75% chance)
Stanford - Reach (25% chance)
Princeton - Reach
UChicago - Match
Harvard - Reach
UCLA - Match/Safety
U of I - Safety

Strong applicant especially in regards to the EC involving research programs. Since you show a lot of interest in your field, I think you have an excellent shot at all of the schools.

ACT, SAT II’s and GPA are also very good. Do you have legacy status at any of these schools?

You have a pretty good chance at all of the schools. As said above, you’re in for all public schools (Berk, UCLA, UIUC, Umich, etc etc). I would give you a reasonable chance at the top Ivies/stanfords, but its hard to tell for anyone. Low Ivies/Caltech/Uchi are probably all matches.

Best of luck
