I was just wondering about my chances at MIT. Here's my scoop:
I am going into my senior year at a small wyoming school (850 students) and am currently ranked first in my 225+ class. I have a cumulative 4.0 unweighted gpa, and have taken 3 AP courses and 3 years of honors english. I am going to be in an additional 3 AP courses this coming year. I am in student council (treasurer 9th grade, 11th grade, current vice president), class council (treasurer 10th), key club (treasurer 9th grade, 11th grade), national honor society (junior society in 9th grade), and academic challenge (a knowledge-bowl type group - we are currently defending state champs). I was editor of the junior high yearbook in 9th grade and will be on the school news paper staff this year in an editor position. I also am in orchestra and have all-stated two times (was also first chair violin for two concerts). I am also on the varsity swim team (3-time letter award, 2-time "Most Valuable", 2-time All-Conference, 3-time state qualifier, 2-time state finalist). I have been selected for inclusion in the Who's Who (both academic and sports editions) books, National Honor Roll, and was named an All-American scholar in mathematics. Grades and extra-curriculars aside, I have fairly modest test scores: SATI: 680 Math, 610 Critical Reading, 640 Writing, 11 (out of 12) on essay portion SATII: 710 Chemistry, 700 Math 2 ACT: 29 composite, 12 (out of 12) on essay portion AP: 4 Chemistry, 4 United States History. I plan on retaking the act and sat's next year, although I am aware that that statement does not guarantee better test scores. I eagerly await your thoughts. Thanks.

I just wanted to say that I've heard Who's Who and National Honor Roll have no value whatsoever. :(

your test scores are very low for MIT, but being from wyoming will help you. raise your SAT math score a lot and try to get the other two over 700 also and you have a shot

those are really low SAT's.... much lower than the mid 50% range at MIT. My SAT scores are higher than those and I dont know if I have a chance of getting in. What are your times btw? What is your 100 free time?

btw, i am not a sprinter at all, but my 100 is a 52. i swim the 500 in a 5:02
