Girl? Cool. Oh…number 2000!!!

YES GIRL :)

Actually, I had post 2000 :)

I know, I had the 200th reply. It’s a lesser accomplishment, but great nonetheless. I feel good that I’m not the odd gay kid.

We can be odd gay kids together.

Oh, this is going to be awesome :D

Hopefully :(

Positive thoughts, please.
We ARE going to get ACCEPTANCE letters and have a wonderful time in Boston. Well, Boston-adjacent to be more specific.

If I do get accepted, this summer will e the most exciting and brain-frying (because of the coursework) experience of my life.

And I’ll be able to say I was a student at MIT :)

It’s going to be fun getting to know you this summer, CPU. You seem pretty cool.

Wow, i really hope you both get in. You talk of getting to know each other but it looks like your’e both doing that just fine. the facebook group was created by one of the possible teachers, and Sandra Tenorio the Administrative Assistant

I am another patient MITES applicant. Sadly, I have trouble thinking that I will get in. My scores/AP are not nearly as high as everyone else that applies. My school doesn’t have any AP classes and I try and do as much extra as I can but it never seems to be enough.
My stats are
GPA:4.0
Rank:1
E/C:Nationally Ranked Debater, Tennis, Jazz Band, Senior Band, Rocketry Club, Cultural Links, Honored for the Vermont Math Coalition.
ACT:
33 Science
32 Math
29 English
25 Reading

Whateverhappens- I hope we have secret magic powers where whatever we say comes true
you seem awesome too!

McLeod- thanks!
I gave up fb for lent so I cant check until Easter
hopefully I’ll have a reason too!

Ratio- it’s okay! Ps. None of us are “patient” :)

A school with no AP classes? If they knew about this they may consider, but that’s if they were informed somehow. Is that your unweighted GPA because im sorry but i dont understand how you could be Rank 1 out of your entire class with a 4.0.
I think they mainly look at what was available to you, and depending on whether you used it or not, on how you used it.

It’s okay if you have no AP/IB.

Not every school does. All colleges take that into context. You’re still doing well! Are those honors classes?

Don’t most schools have their person ranked one with a 4.0? Oh…yeah. Our school doesn’t weight grades as to make those not in advanced classes feel equal. I don’t know. But yeah, I take all honors classes and am a year ahead in both science and math. But, we will see who gets in! Hopefully I do, but I have a week-long math camp as a back-up. But I am very hopeful that I get in. My guidance counselor wrote about our school and how we don’t have AP classes and I wrote an essay about growing up where I am and how it effects my ability to learn science.

That’s stupid how schools don’t weight.

Our rank is by weighted. Goes up to 4.3 or 4.5

My UW is 3.97/4.0

What does a 4.0 GPA mean?
I heard that it only means that you have a >90% average?

Yeah, my school is very casual. We call our teachers by their first name and everyone is considered to be equals. We have over 25 art classes, but only a set of science classes that everyone takes. Physics/Earth Science as a Freshman, Bio as a Sophomore, Chemistry as a Junior, and Physics as a Senior.

A 4.0 is a PERFECT average. Unweighted though.

It means you have a 100%

Really? At my school you get a 4.0 if your average is above 93%.
