MITES 2011 Information & Discussion

I’m not teasing… I don’t know anything.

Whateverhappens-- what’s going on? Lol I’m doing something and idk what it is

If I find out you know something, I’m going to pinch you or something this summer. I can’t really hit a girl, but I can ask another one to do it for me!! :)

HOPEFULLY YOU CAN PINCH ME :)

Haha. I’ll let you all know. After I stop crying because of rejection or crying because of acceptance.

It would be pretty evil of you to pretend you didnt get a letter when you did, just to make us insane from the waiting game!

I’m a really nice person!

I wouldn’t do that.

Okay, maybe “can’t” wasn’t the best word choice, but you got my point lol

last year someone emailed MITES and they told them when the decisions were mailed out. Anyone want to do that this year? To cut out the suspense?

I’ll do it :)

Yay! I think we all on this forum will give you a collective thank-you!

was going to request the same thing entrevox did right now but only to realize it was already done…

Early thanks to whateverhappens!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

@Whatever, you may want to addsomething like you have another program that needs your response asap or something…

good idea?

Whateverhappens- use a fake email or a different one than you used to sign up.

And don’t give your name.

Just a precaution, they could get mad because people keep asking.

It just says that I applied and I need to know when I can expect to know my application status because I was offered and internship this summer(not actually a lie). I used my aim account for it. I doubt they’d really get mad about it though, especially since the decisions are finalized now.

^super awesome! let us know asap please!

Haha… the people around me don’t think I’ll get in because I’m Asian.
sigh
Oh well.
Don’t you think the MITES people could check this thread and compare the times the email and the post were written, thereby figuring out who’s who? I don’t think anonymity is the way to go here… but I doubt they’ll go through all that trouble :)

So? They don’t know our real names.

“whateverhappens” shouldn’t matter anyways^^

this shouldn’t affect our decisions anyways.

btw you guys know how MIT says they don’t invade our facebooks or the remainder of our internet lives, etc. during the app process…: do you guys think that’s honest? o.O

Yeah,
And if they did check the times, there is a tiny they may figure out who Whateverhappens is, but probably (hopefully) not anyone else

If I were an adcom with at a university with 20,000+ applicants, I wouldnt spend the time to look at everyones fb

That seems like a huge waste of time and energy…
