<p>My hopes for MITES aren’t that high either, because isn’t it still meant for low-income or minority students? I’m not low-income and Asian, which I guess might be considered a minority but usually isn’t. But I’m still impatient for decisions. I wish they could just email us ahead of time telling us if we made the cut or not, then send out mail. :(</p>

<p>so last Thursday, I saw Sandy (the awesome person you will know as your MIT mom if you end up going to MITES) mailing out your applications to the decision committee. It made me really excited because it means you guys will be getting your decisions really soon.
I’m really really excited for you guys because MITES will be one of the best experiences of your life! I’m a little sad I won’t get to be there again this summer but maybe I’ll see some of you in fall 2012…if any of you decide to enroll at MIT. </p>

<p>In the email I was told “later this week,” but maybe they meant they were mailing it later this week. Anyways, I have some good news! I was accepted into HSHSP, so there’s always hope.</p>
