<p>Due to the post above my afterschool activities for tomorrow have all been postponed :)</p>
<p>Ok, knowing that they have been sent today I should receive a letter Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday.</p>
<p>“Physics I Honors and Precalculus Honors and for those who have taken AP Calculus and AP Physics.”</p>
<p>I’ve also taken NONE of these classes yet so what does this mean to me>_>?</p>
<p>This thread is really active which is a bit surprising considering the level activity on similar summer programs.</p>
<p>What is it that makes this program so popular? Is it the MIT appeal? What are everyone’s reasons for applying, being nervous, and posing excited blurbs and clues?</p>
<p>I forgot about tomorrow :)</p>
<p>My reasons-
- to explore math/science/engineering to see if I TRULY like computer engineering (since I’ve never had a class or anything. Just programming.)</p>
<p>-to have a fun and intellectual summer</p>
<p>-to decide if I wanna be a pure math major 
I might do math and business if I don’t do computer science and neuroscience (with business minor.)</p>
<p>-TO MEET ALL OF YOU AMAZING PEOPLE :)</p>
<p>-to help me with subject tests</p>
<p>-I’m taking AP Calc BC and AP Physics next year, I should do well after this</p>
<p>-knowing I can handle the course rigor, good prep for college</p>
<p>-aaaaaaand… Because come on… What MIT hopeful DOESN’T wanna spend 6 weeks at MIT, even if they don’t get in!?</p>
<p>CPU and McLeodM1–i think dascholar was more saying that it doesn’t matter what classes you are in (the lower, more basic ones or the AP ones) because we are all “bright and promising”. ps. i think the award for using the phrase “bright and promising” the most times in one post should be awarded to dascholar… 
nonetheless it was a very motivational speech (: AND OMG SENT TODAY??? I’M OFFICIALLY IN FREAK OUT MODE.</p>
<p>Hmmm…I’ve taken Calc I and II, but they’re at a college. I wonder what those count as?</p>
<p>JMC- but he said something like “prerequisite” classes. Like if someone never took anything past algebra 2. I thought the program was for “disadvantaged” so although they won’t take someone who has an academic history that says they can’t handle the work, but they won’t take someone who’s like AMAZING ie the latter person wont benefit as much.
