entrevox–I’M GONNA MISS EVERYONE FROM THE THREAD OMG. i’m still hoping they messed up my letter lolz and i’ll get an acceptance letter in a few days… fat chance i know, but let me be delusional.

Thanks, good to know!

I love you all <3

did the MITES office send the acceptance letters a day before they sent the rejection letters? nothing came in the mail today and i’m from houston, tx.

@JamaicanMehCrazy- I’m so sorry things did not go the way you or I expected. You are a terrific student with a great personality, so I know you will be admitted to a great college, maybe even at MIT, in the fall of 2012. Do a terrific job on all your apps (your test scores are already fantastic!) and you will be admitted practically every where you apply.

@those who were fortunate to get in, perhaps this is the official FB site for MIT MITES 2011: [Login | Facebook](<a href=“MITES 2011 Public Group | Facebook”>MITES 2011 Public Group | Facebook) Right now, I don’t think anyone has joined. I just see the names of two of the administrators at MITES on this page.

Have a great summer everyone!

rejected :(

dascholar–thanks (: i kinda knew from the beginning that i wouldn’t get in. i mean i have plenty of opportunities (just not a few thousand dollars lying around to spend on one of the many other summer programs) and my high school sends like 98% of it’s graduates to a four-year college. soooo yeah i was totally expecting my rejection, but it still hurts. i have yet to shed a tear though, so i’m proud! hah now i can get a job…yay…

@Jamaican
Don’t feel so bad! I got rejected too! Rejects unite!

Yeah, don’t be discouraged. As long as you make use of your summer, you should be fine come college app. season. I’m going to make the best of my seven weeks at HSHSP and hopefully learn a lot (and maybe be able to get Siemens/Intel semifinalist recognition  ).

And to nocturnalduck, I checked the <50000 box and was rejected, so there is no definite correlation. However, I do live in an awesome district, so that may have worked against me among other things.

<3 Jamaican, here for ya  well get into college with other stuffles :D

skeppy you’re my fave (:

and thanks everyone for making the last few months of my life more entertaining! i hope everyone has an awesome summer. (i just had to fix my spelling for “summer” because i accidentally wrote “supper”…uhm i THINK i have a food problem)

@ JamaicanMeCrazy
Out of everyone on this thread I wanted you to make it the most. I like you the most, but don’t tell anyone :D. Actually, I thought you were a guy at first and I had a huuuuuuuge crush on you (if those sort of feelings are actually possible to obtain via the interwebs) !!! But don’t worry, you can still be my girl crush as long as it doesn’t creep you out haha.

Yeah, well anyway, don’t sweat it because you are an awesome student with a shimmering personality (multiple people on this board have already told you this), and you will not only be successful, but MEGA-successful because there is absolutely nothing holding you back.

@ The rest of the rejected population
We’re awesome and we know it (clap our hands). But seriously, it may seem to suck now, but we’ll all probably have amazing, life changing summers that we wouldn’t have been able to experience by going to MITES. And you know how they saw hindsight is 20/20? Well I charge you all to ramp up each of your forsights to 20/20 and just know RIGHT NOW that something necessary and amazing will happen to you this summer that would have never have happened at MIT. It’s just the way that God made the world.

@ CPU and everyone else who got into E2
I did as well, and I hope to see you guys there. At first I was a little disappointed, but I just slapped myself for even remembering that brief period in my life. This is going to be awesome, and I am soooooo thankful that they picked me for anything at all (as CPU said earlier).

ahem. to clarify, I use the word “huuuuuuuge” very lightly in the previous post. Re-reading my post, that sounds extremely creepy. More accurately I thought to myself “wow that guy is cool, I hope I get to meet him at MITES,” and no more.

Hyperbole: Good in poetry, creepy on the internet.
