My friend Christian got his acceptance in the past day or two. It’s a large 8 1/2 by 11 envelope with a bunch of papers in it about class preferences and what not. If they don’t receive it by Friday, the acceptance is void.

In the meantime, I’ll be nervously awaiting an email from TASP about whether I was accepted or not. It’s the final stage (post-interview). Good luck to everyone who applied to MITES and other summer programs!

@jmcrusader - How far south do you live in? Im in Charlotte County and haven’t received mine yet, so im wonder what date your letter is stamped as. Mine will possibly come sometime this week.

If you imagine they put them in the mail room and then there’s 1500 letters that have to be processed it’s not hard to imagine postmarks spread out.

I misread the letter. I’m actually waitlisted Yay! After all of my summer program rejections and disappointments, I’m so glad that I at least have a chance at MITES…otherwise I"ll be going to the E2! To fellow waitlisters, are there any paperworks we need to do?

nhi1605, does your letter say that you were waitlisted along with saying that you were accepted to E2? That’s an awesome position to be in if it that is the case! Ha. I think you are the first person to actually be waitlisted on the forum… I actually thought they replaced the waitlist with E2, but I guess I was mistaken.

Maybe that was it, postmarked the 15th but dated the 13th. My bad.

In the meantime, if they want course selections/etc. by Friday, then what about the people that haven’t recieved the letters yet? Are we going to be penalized (if accepted, but unlikely) for not having recieved the letters in time?

Well, when the letter arrived I was away from home so I had to call my brother to check. My heart dropped several feet when he said the letter was REALLY thin and told me that I’ve been rejected. I didn’t get to actually read the content today and see that it actually meant waitlisted. After close inspection, this is the content of my letter:

“Thank for applying…unfortunately not enough space to on program to admit everyone 1400 applications for 80 spots …“Our selection committee has decided to place you on the waitlist for this summer’s program”…We are delighted to let you know that if you’re not selected for MITES, we’ve reserved a place for you in E2…You will be notified of the final decisions by May 1st.”

I sincerely hope that by “this summer’s program” they mean MITES…Anyways, after being rejected from NSLI, SIMR, WTP, and JCVI, I am very thankful that I have somewhere to go for at least a week this summer. Good luck you guys! I hope you receive your decisions soon. To people who have already been accepted, congratulations (hopefully some of you got accepted into more prestigious programs like RSI so you decide to give up your spots for MITES for me …JK =D)
