MITES 2011 Information & Discussion

Just as an update:

Hello,

You are receiving this e-mail because you have filled out an application for the MIT MITES program. Thank you for your interest in the program.

If you have been checking the status of your application online and the test scores, transcripts, or recommendation letters are still listed as ‘INCOMPLETE’ and you are concerned about the status, please go through the following steps:

· Follow up with your recommenders to see if they have submitted materials.

· If they have submitted materials, please give us until February 28th before you contact us about the status of your application, as we need time to process materials and update your application from ‘INCOMPLETE’ to ‘COMPLETE.’

· If they have not submitted materials, they can submit them in one of the following ways:

If they received an e-mail with a unique web link to upload electronically they should still use that.

Otherwise, if they have not received that e-mail or are experiencing technical difficulties they can submit them via:

E-mail (preferred): E-mail mites@mit.edu a scanned (preferably in pdf format) copy of materials and include the student’s name in the body and subject line. If they have already submitted materials via web upload, mail, e-mail, or fax please do not ask them to resubmit the information

MIT MITES Program

I got this too!!

I guess they are overloaded with their own stress, let alone us bombarding them with calls and e-mails :)

they should have a separate MITES-only committee.

Yes, they should. I would imagine that this back-up and frenzy happens every year.

it does, i looked at old threads.

oops, guess I called them too many times (3 times) :P

Quick question: Assuming I’m accepted[Only positive thoughts :)], do we get any free time to actually see Boston or will all of our time be spent on campus with scheduled events?

It says on other threads that they had time to go to other places. so I’m assuming yes. Of course, provided that you finish the hw, which apparently is a lot? idk…

So I’ll have to option to do outside things, but will be trapped by homework. That sounds a lot like my normal life lol :)

@chowaznmein & cw484912: Looking at your statuses(stati?) makes me feel better about mine. Thanks  lol

lol i think i fail the hardest right now.
but my counsellor is sending EVERYTHING in the mail right now, so i guess its allll good =)

I didn’t trust my counselor with everything, I made sure to send in everything myself. I didn’t get into Andover Summer last year because she forgot her recommendation. Turns out that my fears were realized, she just realized yesterday that she hadn’t sent in my transcript or test scores. I’m glad MITES got those weeks ago :)

Yay!!! They’ve updated my app status!!!

Haha I’m in the same boat as you. Everything is INCOMPLETE for me. It makes me feel worse that they feel the need to put the status as “INCOMPLETE” instead of “incomplete.”

im with you^^
