MITES 2011 Information & Discussion

Cool, I liked MIT when I was a kid because it was one of the few college names I could say(I liked Yale, too). I really though Harvard was where the non-MIT material went. Of course, I have better reasons now. :)

at first i liked MIT (and yale, harvard, brown, princeton) because of the names. didnt know what they were, but various tv shows (like the fresh prince) hailed those schools.

then i LOVED mit it was my one and only… then i hated it… now i love it again

Really? I didn’t like Brown. It seemed to me that no good school could be named after a color.

well, like i said tho, only because of the name.

and when i heard brown, i didnt associate it with the color lol.
a lot of good schools have weird names.

Well, I know that now. But to my 4 year old self, “Brown” always mean the color.

didnt even care about college at 4 lol. i was mad i couldnt go to kindergarten, they held me an extra year because i was “too young”

The only reason I wanted to go then was because my mom told me that people in college got to eat White Castle for lunch  <—Oh, how I miss chicken rings

@CPUscientist3000 oh lol. My mom is trying to get my little brother to skip a grade. (he’s six and he’s smart enough to get into 2nd grade)

I can’t help but to notice that CPUscientist3000 now has 314 posts :)

Nuuuuuuu…school tomorrow for me…:(

Lucky! They took away our President’s day because we missed 4 days due to “snow”. Oh, how Texas amazes me. I miss OH.

NERD STATUS!!! THIS IS EPIC!
to bad it won’t last… i think it changed b/c i just posted somehwere else lol…

i skipped one, and in the south they wouldnt skip me -_______-
but in K i did 1st grade work, in 1st i did 2nd, and when i came up here i got skipped to 3rd and entered an accelerated program in 4th. which helped me boost up in math.

EDIT: it’s winter break for me… all of you get to bed!!

@CPU where are you originally from?

@whateverhappens: I meant to say that I had school tomorrow…not that I didn’t have school tomorrow. I just had a week off from school last week.

chowaznmein–significance of 314? pi…? or you just randomly pointed it out?
whateverhappens–i’m in ohio!! i’ve had three snowdays this year and that’s all we get without having to make them up sometime. but no school tomorrow :P

CPU–winter break?!? mine was back in december (commence the taylor swift singing…)

@JamaicanMehCrazy: Yup…pi…3.14159265358979323846264338327950288…

That reminds me, one of my friends once wrote me a note in class reading “You like pi, but I like pie ^^v”

@JMC Cool, I’m from Cinci and I miss it!! Some of the stuff that qualifies as “snow” down here is ridiculous. We’ve had 5 so far, and I didn’t find out until I got to school all 5 of them because I didn’t think school could be closed for that amount of snow. lol

jamaican- we have holiday (xmas, but cant call it that because its prejudiced) break in dec then winter in feb.

whatever–born in the north, moved to AL, came back up north.

EDIT:
i think my school wins with 9 snow days.

whateverhappens–that’s so silly! haha a lot of schools around us have closed like five or six times but our superintendent is nicknamed “no snow joe” because he never cancels…in fact, i’m surprised we used all three days because normally it’s only one if any. and usually when we cancel it’s because of ice on the roads or a lot of snow at like 4am that the plows can’t get in time.

CPU–do you get a spring break too?
