MITES 2011 Information & Discussion

There’s definitely a gender quota???

Yes, I think there’s definitely a gender quota. I think they try to have an equal number of guys and gals.

@ soydecali

40/1000 looks so scary. FOUR PERCENT! It’s like if you were sitting in a room with 25 other people of the same gender. Everyone has dazzling personalities and is super smart. Otherwise they wouldn’t have applied, yes? So anyways, the admissions staff has to pick just ONE PERSON. Out of everyone. That’s insane.

The decisions last year starting going out around the 8th. Was their notification deadline earlier than ours?

it’s official. i’m not getting in. now i get to let the depression soak into me and take me away, pushing against the wind, toward the ever-fading and ever-further green light of hope…

my new bff is the first person to tell me who/what i totally just paraphrased (horribly, might i add)

there’s much more than 1000… nearly 1.5k i believe…

btw it wouldn’t be 40/1500
for males maybe 40/1000 and females 40/500 ?? (guesses)

Who says less females apply???

Yep, that sounds more right for the girls.

btw, we already have like 20 pages more on this thread than they did last year for MITES, and we haven’t even gotten anywhere close to the decisions being out.

Comparing to MIT stats

so, what if we dont get emailed?

I’ve already seen those stats.

That doesn’t mean it’s the same for MITES

@mexiocanican

We get emailed if we’re missing stuff. So if you haven’t gotten anything, that means they’ve got everything from you and you’re pretty much all set.

So entrevox what did you got on the sat?

235 PSAT. never took the SAT.
