MITES 2011 Information & Discussion

Really? I found that section easy. I had problems with the English section and a few problems with the reading section, but none with science.

Really? They were all easy, especially science since it’s all about reading graphs and understanding the information. Some of the math was hard for me since I havent done any trigonometry, and I don’t really know what to do with the equations that are large but only have a’s and b’s

There wasn’t enough time. And there was too much information all at once

gotta think fast. Thats what i think about the math section.

I felt good about the other sections because barron’s was way harder.

I wish I could use some scores from the ACT and combine with the SAT :)

So have you guys taken the ACTs but not SATs? Or both?

i took the SAT earlier this year, got a 1580, 1100 Math+Reading, going to take the SAT Chem in May

I took both!
Did better on SATs. ACT science killed me.
2310 on SATs
34 on ACTs

Both.

Shooting for 2100+ in may

2270 sat :)

guys…every day that we don’t get our letter is one less day we have to wait! (:

People are talking about this? I have to jump on board.

I agree about the suspense. I need next week to fly by.

Wow, a 5% acceptance rate? I’m 95% likely to be screwed.

I took the SAT, did well, so decided not to take ACT.

I hope we all get in! That would be uhmazin’!

I applied too and am nervous outta my MIND! Really hope I get in and meet all you guys!

ohmygatos–i did well on the SAT too, do you think i should take the ACT? i mean, do you think it’s generally unimportant as long as i have the SAT, or was it just unnecessary for the colleges you are personally looking at?

Jamaicanmehcrazy–
I guess it does depend. The colleges I’m looking into are California (UC) schools and obviously schools on the east coast like MIT. And generally colleges in these regions see more applicants take the SAT than the ACT, whereas the opposite is true in the mid-west. So I decided that the SAT was enough. I AM kind of lazy, and reluctant to give up my Saturday mornings to sit in some classroom for four hours, but I really I think since the SAT is a lot more common among people applying to schools, you will probably be okay with just an SAT score. Had you only taken the ACT, however, I’d probably recommend taking the SAT. But it’s your call as to how comfortable you will feel applying to rigorous colleges. Plenty of applicants take both, so I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt.

grr the last thing i wanna do is take another test lol

I know, right? I lose to much sleep to frickin’ collegeboard as it is, no need to scar myself further. So if you feel confident, I’d say just take subject tests and you’re good!

alrighty thanks kid!

i wish collegebaord didnt exist.

im just taking both periodically, despite my ACT score im going to take them both again, and probably a Math 1 SAT after i take my DC College Algebra/Trigonometry/Pre-Calc class
