my semester grades dont come out until after february 1st would 1st marking period grades be ok? argh

@icefairy if semester grades aren’t out yet you use the first quarter grades instead

What if we haven’t taken the sat yet?

@ojeshsh thanks!
@collegeboyyy i dont think you don’t have to put sat scores, just psat

^that smiley face came out way creepier than i thought it would be -__-". sorry!

Just my luck, the day I finish my essays, the deadline gets pushed back a week.

Oh well, more time for my teachers to write theirs @_@

^same here… only one of my teachers has finished her recommendation.

Do we have to finish our essays before we can ask our teachers for recs?

@collegeboyy nope, you could get the recommendations before and submit the essays at 11:59pm if you really wanted too.

Hey guys! Just over a week left before applications are due! Good luck! :D

My last teacher submitted his evaluation today, but he told me that the instructions weren’t clear on the word limit, and that he used a total of about 300 words for the entirety of the recommendation.

Can somebody clarify this for me, please? I’m a little confused on whether the teacher evaluations had a word limit of 300 words for each question or for the whole thing; I thought it was for each of the 7 questions, since the student applications had a 300-word limit for each online essay.

If anyone here has seen what their teachers wrote about them (I gave up my rights so I can’t lol :P), or has any insight on this, I’d really appreciate some feedback. Thanks, and good luck again!

Hi guys I’m a MITES12 alumni. I offered to send out my essay for people and so many people messaged me that I could not reply to all. Since I am done with college admission I will just post a link here.

This is just for you to see what essays could be. Please don’t try to mimic them as your life story is probably more interesting than mine. Good luck and have fun with the application.

when does school end for you guys? i’m slightly worried that the start of camp will conflict with the final exams…

I’m sure you could just take your finals early?

On another note, my teacher’s are not receiving their emails. I emailed MITES but have yet to get a response. What should I do?

@cagemedown Just hang tight! You can also call the office if the email never get answered. They extended the deadline for reasons such as this. I expect another deadline extension.

@icefairy Don’t worry about that; if you’re accepted either your school or MITES will work something out for you. Last year several student arrive a day or two late due to exams and such.

All of my recommendations were sent in, but for some reason I can’t view them. How do I view the teacher recs?

@Bubblyengineer You’re not suppose to see your recommendations. It’s up to your teachers to show you the recommendation before they submit or not.

Were the recommendations still due the 15th?

@cagemedown

I had the same issue. This is what they told me:

“If they still do not see it please submit the information via email to mites@mit.edu. I have attached the guidance counselor and Math/Science instructions, which will walk them through the recommendation. When doing so make sure they separate out their recommendation answering each question independently and send the answers via a word document. We do not need a formal letter. Also have them attach all documents that are asked for. If you are unable to email them please fax them to 617-395-2713. The application deadline has been extended to January 24.”

Hope that helps~
