No, I’m not! And I’m only half Hispanic so I don’t know about my chances with MITES but we’ll see(: what about you?

If we dance, I’m in. The Mexican side of me will easily take me over! And trust me, my Latino hips serve my heritage well… even though I’m a guy, my hips don’t lie!

As weird as that sounds, I’m not kidding. I am more deft with my hips than most of my woman friends. And I’m proud!

Also, I play tenor saxophone. I’d probably just do some jazzy fun for a talent show! Not to mention that, after 4 years of working and saving (since I often need to help my parents when they can’t pay the bills, it took extra long), I finally bought my own professional saxophone today! I couldn’t be happier. :)

@Ozzy It means smooth. Like another word for cool.

Alpha and oOstruck I will in fact pray for you both.

@Areo Although I don’t look it, I’m actually more Mexican than black, but I cannot move my hips accordingly. I look awkward and they just don’t listen to me. Lol

Although I’m Asian, I’m 1st generation and Federal free - lunch qualified. :o to answer your question… I waived my fee for SIMR

@Nashia1505, Thank you! Although I have a safety already phew! I’m so relieved actually that I have a program to do research/social with.

@Nashia My school never has guest speakers, we only get politicians that want randomly to inspect our STEM programs. Just let me know whenever you hear back from your mentor.

After reading what I missed I feel bad my PS3 has been collecting dust for about a year because I haven’t had time to play it.

Dream Girl:
Intelligent, creative, athletic, open-minded, and passionate. Also has to be able to balance work and fun. As for appearance, I just have to personally find her beautiful if that makes sense. I probably forgot something, but thats the general idea.

As for talents I play saxophone and just started guitar, but I’m more of an athlete than a musician.

@Nashia I know what Suave means lol. I was asking in order to know why you were saying such thing lol.

@AeroCcongratulations! :)

I can’t wait to get rejected, then I can start smoking crack.

I’m gonna make a blog that’s called “**** Rivstein says”

@Ozzy You said you’d learn it if we both got in. I thought to myself, “Okay, I love that song. Now I’ll get to learn it on the guitar. Cool!” But, I put suave because I really like that word. And you seem pretty cool, so I thought it was good enough of an excuse to use it. Lbs

@2roads If he doesn’t reply by tomorrow, I’ll just give you his email. You have to remind me though; I don’t have the best memory.

@lovely right? I feel like a disgrace cause I can’t dance either Prom is coming up so I don’t know what to do haha -____-

As for my dream girl:
Beautiful (in my eyes), intelligent, educated, Republican or Libertarian, devoted Christian, funny, ambitious, passionate, strong character, Star Wars fan, and a bunch of little things that don’t come to mind right now.

Ostruck: I’m half-Hispanic and I did MITES last year. And really, half-Hispanic counts for things, and not just MITES (i.e. college diversity numbers, etc).

@liveforscience well that’s encouraging! What did you think about MITES when you went?

@Nashia. Thanks for clearing that up!

@Aero, that’s perfect! xD

I second the motion to make a blog titled “**** Rivstein Says”.
Also, I am willing to play an improvised duet with anyone who wishes to do so. ;D

Hoctopi, I’ll bring my guitar then! I love/hate planning this since we don’t even know whether we are in or not Dx

@Ozzy Very welcome.

All this talent is just amazing!

Is everyone going to junior prom?

@Hoctopi: Agreed. That would be a great blog, haha.

Also, I found this really cool summer apprenticeship program. I’d either be in a youth jazz ensemble or a non-fic. writers group for 6 weeks, learning from esteemed musicians/journalists … and I’d be getting paid $600. Paid. To learn how to play piano/sing better or write better. That’s insane. To make things better, the deadline is May 1st, so it’s way after we hear about MITES :)

Oh. That sounds pretty cool back up plan!

Yeah. I will most likely be going to prom. And even if I didn’t want to go, my friends would probably contrive some scheme to get me there. lbs

Does anyone have idea when acceptances/rejections are being mailed? It’s been so long since I applied to this, I almost forgot I applied until just now! I saw the thread! Has anyone heard any news yet?

The results are going to he most likely emailed to us around April 15 :(
