MITES 2013 Discussion

@2roads YESSSSS

i love u guys! staying up late, going off few if any hours of sleep, cramming and procrastinating homework at midnight, rebellious, smart. i thought i was the only one doing that but now i want to meet all u guys…if we all get in >__<

no im not a creeper, i just havent posted anything for a while cuz i can barely keep up with all the new posts

RECAP:
Dream Girl- smart, beautiful on the inside (outside would be nice too), passionately Catholic and on fire for God, likes me for who i am and makes me want to be myself, clever, witty, fun to be around, someone i can talk to for hours on end and we would never get bored
Sterotypes- hate em, always trying to break them, dislike those who follow or make stereotypes, working on breaking the “asians are only smart robots” stereotype
Inspiration for Engineering- i like new technology and am constantly fascinated by the new stuff people invent. i want to use my talents and make a holographic floating display computer like the ones in the Avenger or Iron Man
Prom- going to have the time of my life, asked a girl, she said yes
Advice for people thinking of asking a person- “JUST ASK THEM” “if u dont ask the person and u look back at this moment in the future, would u regret not asking the person?” i have found that the second phrase can apply to a lot of tough life decisions

i cant believe we have around 10 days until decisions. at first i didnt care too much about getting in, but now im really anxious cuz i want to meet all u guys and gals!

Cano, lol, starting a new team in a broke school is a little easier if it doesn’t cost thousands to start. lol I’m trying to get a Zero Robotics team up and running, and I’m still waiting on the school’s approval :</p>

2roads, Every time @_@

@cmarquez… they see me lurkin’… that was good.

@creeper that claims not to be a creeper…

Coolest theist ever… “on fire for God,” I lol’d.

@Rivs I am not religious. And I’m sorry but that’s a little disrespectful

@EveryoneTalkingAboutEC’s The only good thing my school has is Robotics and I am not very fond of the way the other clubs are being run over here. All mentors, asides from the hard headed robotics mentors, are practically useless.

@Cano …9 creepers bonding… There are so many things wrong with that statement I am having goosegumps.

@AnyShyGuy (Lurker or not) Ask the girls to prom, there’s three possibilites: yes, no, or not knowing (if you don’t ask them).

That first part came out wrong, I meant to say “I am not religious, but I would find that disrespectful.”

It didn’t let me edit it.

I really hope they don’t base acceptance entirely off being a minority… I’m repping that Korean blood haha

@2roads Yes! I expected a little more from them. lbs

And I still have not received a response, but I’ll just give you his email, in hopes that when he does check his email, he can speak directly to you.

I just sent it to you in a direct message.

@All you Asian gangsters… lol If I am not mistaken, Asians are considered a minority in the U.S. I mean, a minority is a minority. They can just pick and choose, which minorities. Well, at least that I am aware of.

Asian’s are only minorities based on population. Based on population we are over represented in the Ivy’s, because technically there should be the most number of African Americans and Caucasians and we know thats not true… And Asians are specifically over represented in engineering fields…

Well, they could be referring to population, but after the last part it’s rather unlikely… Remain optimistic though. You never know. :)

@Aero wait that means you do UIL in Texas! What conference are you? I’m 5A, I made Region in NS and Science as well! Also I made in it Calc and Math, and somehow Compsci. I wonder if we are actually familiar with each other’s names outside of CC. If you take the first three letters of my CC name, those are the first three letters of my last name. Maybe it will ring a bell… probably not though.

Is anyone else here from Texas and does UIL? Or once again any AMC/AIME kids?

That doesn’t quite ring a bell… D: but I’ll have to check which conference I’m in with the captain of our team! He knows all this stuff and is a freaking genius. He tied Bobby Shen (if you compete with the top teams in Texas, then you know that name) for first place in Math at TMSCA State! O___O Dallas area, if that helps?

I do UIL! The UIL math and science club at my school is a joke. No one ever studies or takes the contests seriously. I tried to study (I started self studying some precal/calc topics) but it never helps because one school totally dominates everyone in our district. It’s almost unfair lol.
Bobby Shen is a genius. Aero, the fact that your captain tied is pretty impressive lol.

Is anyone here from IL?

I was at TMSCA State… Bobby Shen is 5A. I’m in his conference. I’ll tell you I got 2nd in NS last year at State (First- Bobby Shen.) And awesome! Sky360, I understand, I basically started a good team at my school, before I came we had never been to State in math. Half the time we didn’t even make Region. Luckily my school has enough resources to allow me to improve despite a lack of a winning tradition.

Wait a minute, Aero, you totally go to ----- don’t you? If so, you probably know who I am… I went to the Calculus Bowl and I also went to both Flower Mound competitions this year.

Yeah! Although I’d rather my area of residence not be in plain sight, haha… xD but I didn’t go to Calc Bowl this year, that team consisted of 4 seniors and an incredibly smart junior (they usually don’t take juniors), so I probably don’t know you…

Have you ever heard of a science magnet where a guy whose name starts with W goes? In Dallas.

Oh my god. Are you him. Are you that genius black guy from —.
