Super-duper CONGRATS to those with good news 
My message, though, is for those with less-than-good news. About a year ago, my S was in the same spot you are right now, rejected from the 3 MIT summer programs. Fast forward, S now holds acceptance letters from MIT, Harvard, Stanford, among many other prestigious universities, ivy league schools and top 10 and 20 schools.
Please, do not let the MITES outcome change your mind about your capabilities and future in your college career.
Get busy during this summer, do what you love and start working early on those essays!

Hey Guys!!! I made it!!! I got in. I’m a Hispanic from NC!! However, I was also accepted into rigorous engineering programs at NC State (the best STEM school in NC in my opinion) Could you guys provide any insight on what I should do?? MIT or NC State? If I stay here, I will have a better relationship with NC State and be able to qualify for its full ride. idk what to do!!!jfkdfgjfdkjls
@cler1010 It’s really up to you my friend. No program will ever be able to guarantee us admission but personally I believe that if your willing to put in the work at MITES you will be prepared for whatever path you decide to take in the future. I dont know much about your other program but if thats where your heart lies then you should do what interests you best

@dearestmom My daughter is leaning towards not doing both. I also don’t want her to get burned out, which is what I think you were alluding to. I know it will look good though, on college apps., if she does both, but at what expense??
