Did anyone here go to the webinar thing? Did they say if they’re going to post a video of it and if so, when? I wasn’t able to attend because my “computer” doesn’t have java.
Essays are important, I filled out the 6th essay. Why not fill it out, that is another chance for them to know you!
@dsi411 Last year they posted the webinar on youtube.
@curiousgeorgerp I would try to be a little less direct, try to have a “hook” to begin your essay
I forgot about the webinar
How time consuming is MOSTEC?
What do you guys think about submitting standardized test scores that are super low? For me, I did horrible on the SAT for the first time (the only time i took it), but I’m going to be taking the makeup in February. Honestly, I don’t think I have a shot at MITES with such low scores…
@darkangel13541: I think that while the MITES program accepts kids who score well on the standardized tests, that is not a criteria which is a hard and fast line in the sand for consideration for admission. Your overall student profile, the strength of your classwork and the way your views as expressed in your essays are going to be the greatest components of your application.
Good luck.
@nw2this They said in the webinar it takes up about 20-25 hours a week.
Does anyone know if we have to submit all of our test scores?
@dsi411 They didn’t say that anywhere in the application. You don’t have to submit test scores at all ( Even though you should)
Have you taken the SAT or ACT yet?
@Ahmeda14960 Yes, I’ve taken the old PSAT, new PSAT, and the SAT. My old PSAT score isn’t that good since I took it in 10th grade so I was wondering if I have to submit it. I guess I don’t have to but I probably will anyways. Thanks.
@dsi411 I think that the main score they will look at is your SAT over PSAT because the SAT is the real deal. Was your SAT score better than your PSAT? If so, that’ll show improvement and I think that’ll look good.
@Ahmeda14960 Yes, my SAT was better. Thanks for the help.
So how is everybody doing on their essays? Have you all finished already? I’m doing them now.
I am sure my D doesn’t know about the webinar. I will have her take a look. Thanks.
@Waiting2exhale Yeah, very true. Thanks!

Is anyone going to write the 6th essay? I feel like I should always do something optional, but I feel like I’ve expressed myself very well with the other 5 essays, and I wouldn’t want to write a bunch of BS on the 6th one…
For the recommendations, do we have to put the emails of the teacher before the deadline to submit it? Or can we put the email after we submit everything else?
@neoking I’m not doing the 6th essay since I have nothing more to say.
hey… some advice. i got a 2250 in my SAT with an 800 in reading but a 740 in math (96th percentile)
should i submit my scores or is the math score too low?
@nocando123 Submit it. Test scores aren’t that important anyways, as long as you show them you are qualified. I’ve gotten the impression that essays are the most important component of the application.
