Yo, so I’m applying to mites this year and does anyone have an idea of how important teacher recs are? I’m not that close with my stem teachers and I don’t know what they think of me, but it’s probably nothing great.
wait so if you’re a chinese male are you screwed. Like was anyone last year who made it?
@maxiong10 I wasn’t close to my teachers either. I’m not sure how important they are to your application
@CoolChem aye thanks, that makes me feel a little better. I’ve kinda slipped up in my calc and chem class over the past month so I’m really hoping my slip ups don’t negatively affect my teacher recs
@Schuh07 Hey there! I just stumbled across your post about the MITES application process. I’m currently finishing my app and would love to get your thoughts on it. Would you mind looking it over?
I am not sure if I stand a chance.

@Schuh07 I sent you an email…trying not to get banned here XD
insta/snapchat/other?
also am i supposed to include unrelated work exp like being a cashier or smth or is that unnecessary
@annaaaj I included all work experience, even if it had nothing to do with STEM
@Schuh07 Would you be able to read my essays?
@will58802 I just wanted to say you have a perfectly good chance at getting in. I wish you luck! Your stem experience seems really cool!
@CoolChem how is possible to apply to MITES and SAMS if SAMS app is due Feb 15th and results are within two weeks, and you only get one month to decide? That would mean I would need to make my mind by end of march/first week of April. However, MITES results come in mid-April. How do I go about this?
@will58802 I am in the exact same predicament as I have been accepted to SAMS and i have just submitted my MITES application, and the results dont come in until mid april. If there is no way around the deadline, then idfk what to do.
@will58802 @AhmedDiongue I applied to both MITES and SAMS, but I didn’t get my SAMS acceptance until 3/31. This meant that my deadline to confirm my spot at SAMS was after the MITES decision date, so I’m not sure how I can help . You could try emailing the SAMS program to see if they can extend ur deadline, but I’m not sure otherwise. I wish you two luck.
lol I haven’t actually been on the threat yet but I’m finishing up the essays now (procrastination at it’s finest) I am almost certainly getting rejected, but there is some hope.
*thread - I don’t know how I speak that wrong
Oh, good lord, this is the result of me not sleeping. I meant *spelled obviously. I’m done, if I make another spelling error, I’m ignoring it.
@slytherinriddle Didn’t the deadline already pass?
They extended it to tonight because of some weather issues. And, therefore, I procrastinated more. I’m done though. @TheMadScientistX
