@lucinaxx I’m not sure about blank- I’ve heard of the portal changing, but I’ve only seen discussions on that one some years, not all. I’ve been rereading my essays and I really can’t concentrate on anything but these decisions right now
Hopefully they’re out soon and we can stop freaking out over them. Good or bad, I just want to know because this is destroying me.
Man, everytime I get an email notification, I have a mini heart-attack because I think it’s from MITES, but it turns out it’s just another college advertisement.
@nahrah Nice to see someone else applying to NSLI-Y! By the way, I actually went ahead and asked them whether I could drop out of the program if MITES accepted me, and here was their response:
“We would encourage you to submit your forms by the deadline. However, if you are selected for the other program and you choose to accept it, then you can withdraw yourself from the NSLI-Y program at any time simply by sending us an email. We just ask that you please notify us promptly so that we will be able to maintain a full program and offer the scholarship to another student.”
So sounds like we still have the choice if they accept us. I still haven’t decided what I’ll do on the off chance I get accepted (kinda hoping MITES will make the decision for me and reject me - even if it looks better for college apps prob not as good an experience). Best of luck!
I legit have been up since 4am waiting for that notification email and its already the afternoon and NOTHING. Com one OEOP, this anticipation is stressing me out!?
i honestly wouldn’t be shocked if the deets don’t come out today. They did say mid to late April, never specifying a set date. Like, I think the 15th is their goal but having that vague admissions release date is their way of saying don’t be mad if y’all see nothing in your inbox today. Also, recall the 5-day grace period we had…
If you log into the application they changed expected decision time from “mid-late april” to just “mid-april” im assuming it will either be later today or tomorrow.
@StreamsLambda EXACTLY! I got three pages of physics homework to do but I can’t concentrate for the life of me. IM SO NOT READY for the college app process.
Does anyone know how much of a role finance plays in the process? A am a minority but I think I make a bit too much to get in (simply because they don’t consider the massive debt it took to build up a small family business)?
@StreamsLambda I’ve had the same concerns, for SAMS at least, that’s why I assume I got rejected, unless it was having high test scores like some people were speculating.
@AtWitsEnd@StreamsLambda It has some role, but only to an extent in my opinion. For example, for SAMS I put my income as 60k (and got accepted). Im an African American male btw. I think my essays are what truly got me in.
