I posted this in the summer programs thread, but I recieved no answers. I figured I should just post it here, sooo....

I had a few questions!
~ will the grades you receive in your classes at MITES effect your overall gpa in high school?
~ has anyone here attended MITES, if so, please do tell about experiences!
~ are the classes extremely difficult? I hear students who attend are academic geniuses in math/science.
~ what are the acceptance rates for this program?
~ when they say you must be a junior to apply, are they referring to only rising juniors or rising seniors?

1) no, they will not transfer back over. also i don’t think MITES gives “grades” as per such.

2) can’t answer

3) well…they’re difficult! they’re MIT classes. but the students aren’t all “geniuses.” they’re just kids who want to study some more math and science, especially stuff that maybe their high school won’t offer.

4) last year it was around 6%. it’s actually tougher to get into MITES than into MIT purely by the numbers. but that shouldn’t stop you from applying if you would like to be considered.

5) you must apply during the spring of your junior year. MITES takes place during the summer before your senior year.
