Mix of a business school and liberal arts college?

If you can get pre-admit at Michigan Ross, you spend a year in another Michigan schools before starting business school classes sophomore year. I personally spent my year in LS&A (Literature, Science and Arts), and continued to take a few electives there even during my business school years. It was a good mix of liberal arts and business. I feel like there are a few other business schools that use this model, but not sure which ones… can others think of them?

Your ACT is right in range for Bryant University. Your GPA is a little less than average for them.

It’s considered a university, but with only 3,320 undergrads. Not sure what the core curriculum is like or if it would live up to your Dad’s expectations, might it might be worth a look.

Elon might be of interest for you.

Ah, sorry, missed the ACT and GPA. Ross wouldn’t work out for you.

Manhattan College might be worth a look, too. Avg GPA is 3.4, avg ACT is 25.

@woogzmama Students don’t do internships during the school year. In business areas, summer internships start junior year. It does not appear Drew is accredited for business.

Ohio Wesleyan is a LAC with business major.
Susquehanna is another LAC with business. It is also AACSB accreditted.

How about Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH?

@happy1 you mean Rider University?

Two more LACs that aren’t super-selective that have good business programs are U. of Puget Sound and Trinity University in TX.

@LBad96 - Yes my error, it is Rider U. If a person would to google “Rider College NJ” then Rider University would pop up so I imagine/hope the OP could have figured it out pretty easily.

Muhlenberg, Ursinus and St. Joseph’s all would be worth looking at. Best of luck to you! I also know that many LAC’s have writing support offices. They will help you write, edit, and offer suggestions so that you become a stronger writer. It is a skill that you will need regardless of your major. Best of luck to you.

@ferrarepatrick73 I’ll make sure to send my intern home after he gets back from break. :wink: Our company does both.

Thank you everyone for all of the suggestions I am so incredibly thankful and I really appreciate it.How important is going to an accounting accredited school?

Update:I actually decided that I want to go to major in Economics.I have been doing a lot of research and think it would actually be more beneficial than majoring in Accounting.The final thing that really pushed me to change my mind was the fact that my parent’s financial advisor majored in Econ.Being a financial advisor is a career that I would seriously consider and find really interesting.The best part is that she actually went to a non-selective state school and is insanely successful which makes me feel more optimistic about my future.

@beachbeach98 I just read this entire thread. I think your decision is an excellent one. It will give you the background you need for a financial career—and it satisfies your father’s desire for you to get a liberal arts education! Also, there are not too many papers, if any, involved in economics. It’s also great that you have a role model to see what is possible.
