I know they have these at some other schools but I am wondering if they have them at cornell, speifically in freshmen housing? Thanks!!

I believe there are a handful in Donlon and Risley, but there are still single-sex bathrooms there, too. As far as I can recall, every other freshmen dorm has single-sex bathrooms; some are even suite-style.

The uni bathrooms are usually pretty small and there are always single sex bathrooms right down the hall. Most waste disposal happens in the single sex rooms

what if a girl wants to take a dump and guys are around?

risley bathrooms are all mixed-gender bathrooms - except for the first floor where there are the monks and virgins hallways (monks = guys only, virgins = girls only)

i lived in risley last year and, honestly, they weren’t that awkward. generally by this age, (even though there are a lot of guys who say that they don’t believe that girls poop or fart - i live with 7 guys who ALL think that), people know everyone performs the same bodily functions. if you’re not comfortable with it by now, you’ll learn to by the end of year if/when you share a mixed-gender bathroom. or you could always just go to a different bathroom. the beauty of dorms is the sheer MASSIVE amount of bathrooms there are. or at least that’s how it was/is in risley :)
