Mixing 2007-2008 tax returns?

<p>I am working on my FAFSA.</p>

<p>So I have my parents' 2007 tax return. We have all the paperwork for the 2008 tax return, except for one W-2 from my mom's employer, who is a flake and probably won't give the form to my mom for another couple of weeks.</p>

<p>On the FAFSA, should I do a "mix-and-match" of the 2008 stuff I have for my dad with the 2007 stuff I have for my mom? Or should I just use the 2007 tax return to fill out the FAFSA?</p>

<p>Use the most accurate estimates you can come up with. If you know information is different from 2007 then use the information you know is more accurate. Even for your Mom - if she has a final paycheck from 2008 that reflects her 2008 income more accurately, then use that instead of using the 2007 tax info.</p>

<p>Make sure you go back in and correct it when 2008 returns are actually filed.</p>
