Mixing humanities/science APs

I'm a very math/science person, so I'm planning on only taking the science APs (minus Biology and ones like Psych/EnviSci) plus Calc. Ideally, that'll be 6 in total. I probably could get a decent score on other APs with some good studying, but I'd like to stick with ones I would enjoy doing (a very nerdy sentiment! ><). I know a lot of people here on CC take 10 or more APs, from both humanities and science, though. 6 seems awfully low in comparison, and I'm worried that colleges might look down on them for being 'too nerdy'.

So, wise CC community,

How common is it to only take APs in science, and will that hurt?

Are there any humanities APs that I really need under my belt?

How important is the number of APs? There are a bunch that are easy to grab, for AP Scholar, but does taking them benefit in the long run?

In the grand scheme of things, APs are not that important.

There are also no essential humanity APs that you have to have.

There is no magical number of AP’s one must take to be admitted to any school. Just take the toughest course load offered to you, and you’ll be fine. If you’re a real math/science person, take all the science AP’s you want, but if you want to show that you’re at least a bit more well-rounded, you should consider taking an AP in the humanities (could be English, history, or a language).
