Mizzou admissions question

I’m currently a high school junior in my second semester and will be graduating a semester early to hopefully start at Mizzou of next spring semester there (I will have all the required credits). I have a 29 on my act but only a 2.5 Gpa. I know it says online that mizzou is automatic admission with anything higher than a 24 on the act. However, I was wondering if my lower Gpa would negatively effect this. I have also heard that with a 28 as long as you have a 2.0 Gpa or higher you should be good. I just want to see if anyone else has heard this or has other information. Thanks!

Your best answer would come from your University of Missouri admissions representative: http://admissions.missouri.edu/contact/reps/

My opinion is that you would have no issue being accepted, especially considering the current drop in enrollment Mizzou is experiencing.

yeah , not looking good for mizzou .

Wow, @zobroward - thanks for that link. I was wondering if the bad news around protests at Mizzou would impact next year’s quantity and quality of applicants. I know of one senior who was offered a full scholarship (athletic, she swims like a fish. A very fast fish) but opted to pay to go to a UC instead. Discomfort around the ramifications about the student body’s culture was the main reason for this.

sadly the downward spiral may go on for a long time. and the rebound if and when it occurs may take a long time and go very very slow.

so, because of the trouble at mizzou and all that. would the general consensus be yes on me being admitted?

Even without the recent troubles you would get in. See the attached for further guidance.

thanks for that link. That makes it seem as though as long as one’s act is 24 plus and they have taken the required courses, then gpa doesn’t matter.

Well, you seem like a smart student. I am 14, graduating very early, this year in fact! I would try to get your grades up as much as you can, it seems like it isnt looking too shallow. I hope you get in!
