Mizzou for non-Journalism majors

Mizzou has a great reputation for their Journalism school, but what about the rest of the school? Are the Business and Engineering schools well regarded? Would it be better to spend more $ and go elsewhere if not majoring in Journalism?

Anyone with info on Mizzou? Everyone knows it’s a great school for Journalism, but what about the rest of the school? Engineering any good? Business? School of Arts & Sciences?

bump

My DD goes there (sophomore) and with her Mark Twain Scholarship ($4K off), it equals the cost of UCLA (we’re CA residents and she is a Journalism major). All her buds are MO and IL residents and are Education and Nursing majors. The guys she is friends with are Engineering and some majors affiliated with Agriculture. I’ve been impressed with her classes so far so I guess it just depends if you’re weighing in-state vs. out-of-state tuition, travel costs etc. MO resident — seems like a great place to get your education along with loads of MO tradition.

@dk2662, we are also CA residents and Mizzou is a great deal with the Mark Twain Scholarship,. As you said, it makes it cheaper than the UCs. I just worry that it’s a good school for Journalism but not known for other things, and my student is looking at doing something other than Journalism. Good to hear that you have been impressed with classes so far, I just hope it is as good in other majors as it is in Journalism.
