MLK Scholarship

not at all. i am caucasian/hispanic/japanese

"This award honors those students who are committed to the principles of Martin Luther King, Jr., including community service, equality, and social justice."

So no, it has nothing to do with race.
I think I was chosen because I do have a very strong background of "community service, equality, and social justice."

I live by those principles, and it was very obvious in my application that my passion lies my commitment to them.

ema99, it would be really hard turning down Brandeis... but I think I might actually like Princeton's environment more, and it's still pretty affordable for my family. I'll see.... I'm definitely planning to visit Princeton, and hopefully I'll have the opportunity to visit Brandeis too.

i am deff going to brandeis. I got into Tufts, Bowdoin, and Colgate, with Bowdoin being my top choice. however, Tufts, and Colgate are of similar equality, so I will choose Brandeis

plus, Bdeis has strong premed

Another MLK scholar signing on!

I visited both Brandeis and my first choice, WUSTL, this weekend and surprisingly I liked Brandeis more.....the money might have helped a bit too ;)
