Hi I’m just wondering if anyone here has gotten in to MMEDIC and if so what were you stats?
I know they get between 30 and 60 applicants a year, and they only accept between 8 to 10… I’m just wondering if anyone has any information about it, especially on what it takes to get in.

Thanks!

i was accepted, so you can pm me for my stats if you wish.

you apply in the fall of your sophomore year, then there is an interview round if you get to it that involves an interview at the undergrad campus and one at the med campus, and then you hear back in the summer before your junior year. you then have 4 semesters of undergrad to take 4 courses that count for mmedic requirements, 2 of which must count for the med school. i took 2 semester of biochem, but there’s also a 1 semester biochem, 2 semesters of physio, 2 semesters of histo, and an endocrine course. if you get a b or better in your science modules, you don’t have to take them as a first year. you still have to pass the mcat, and they raised the requirement to a 30. it is meant to make the transition to med school easier. i can’t tell you much on what it takes to get in; it’s like applying to med school but you don’t have an mcat score and your app is only based on a few semesters of college. thus they really want to see that you are not only capable but that you are 100% positive that you want to go into medicine and that you want to stay at BU. you should have some clinical experience to prove the 1st. and like any app to anything, you should have good grades, be well-rounded in terms of extracurriculars, and perform well in the interviews. no one knows how many applicants they get in a year; i’ve heard it can be anywhere between 60 and 250 and that it all depends on the year, etc. they have accepted fewer than 8 and more than 10 depending on how many truly qualified applicants they have. but this number also usually includes the engmedics, i.e. in my year there were 8 mmedics and 4 engmedics, and the year after me there were 13 mmedics and no engmedics. if you are currently at BU and are interested, definitely introduce yourself at the premed office and ask them about the program. hope this helps!

Wow thanks!
I was told they get between 30 and 60 applicants by one of the pre-professional advisers I’ve had email correspondence with.
I’m not currently at BU but it really is my dream school. I plan to apply ED next year (Yeah I’m just a junior, haha)
That did help a lot, thanks
