MMSS admissions chance

Hi,
I’ve been admitted to Northwestern thru ED last week and I’m very excited to attend NU!!
I applied to NU because I wanted to do MMSS major, and my “Why NU” essay was about how this program suits my academic goal perfectly. So it would be a big disappointment if I fail to get in. I don’t know how hard it is to get in, but considering they only select 20 students, I am guessing it would be really competitive. But I am fairly confident in my math scores. If you know anyone who is in this program, could you tell me if I have a good chance of getting in?

These are my stats:

SAT I math (800) reading(710)
SAT subject test Math 2C (800)
AP calculus BC (5)
current (senior) Math courses: Multivariable Analysis, Statistics
I’m also an international student from South Korea.

I genuinely have no idea how we select people into our program. My stats was 2400, 800 in math and english, and (really crappy) IB scores. But then I had a few friends who had decent stats as well get rejected.

I personally think all this depends on the new program director. Our last one, Rogerson, lead the program for 15 something years and was always very strong on the idea that MMSS was made for academia, not business (of course, he was very good at training ppl for academia and a lot of businesses picked up on that). I’m not sure if Ely is the same, but I would really highlight research interests in your essay. A few friends of mine came to campus to visit and had a chat with the program director, and I think that boosted their chances significantly.
