Has anyone gotten their decisions for the MMSS program yet? It’s already February, and I still haven’t gotten mine (I am an ED applicant, and rather concerned at this point).
Also, does anyone know how people are selected into the program?
Thanks for the info!
I haven’t got a decision back yet either (I’m a ED applicant also). I think the website said they send decisions early February-- so maybe by Fridayish is when they’re releasing them? As for how ppl are selected, I’ve heard freshman admission is mostly based on test scores and what classes you take. I think they want you to have taken at least through BC calc and have a strong math background. The website said there was a 70% acceptance rate which isn’t that bad, so it seems like they basically accept you if you meet the basic criteria and show interest.
Thank you for your help. I was sort of panicking (the email they sent to confirm said “by Feb 1st” and no response if you arent admitted to NU, so it reawakened the classic “maybe the acceptance was a tech mistake like what happened to your cousin with Vassar” foolishness).
I guess they didn’t meet their date on the email generally, so thats fine. I hope to see you with me in MMSS next year!
Average test scores of entering first-year students:
SAT Math: 784
SAT Crit. Reading: 750
SAT Writing: 768
ACT Math: 35
ACT Comp: 34.5
First-year-entry acceptance rate: 66%
Sophomore-entry acceptance rate: 69%
As pointed out above, don’t forget that there is sophomore admissions as well if you don’t get in now. People are selected pretty much based on scores, as far as I know. I don’t think it’s a super holistic thing for MMSS
I received a (good) email on February 5th and a letter the following week.
Good luck, everyone.
When should RD candidates expect to be notified?
i got deferred for MMSS cuz they recieved it late and they told me within two weeks of RD decisions so probably in a week or so.
Got my email today at 3:35! (Accepted!!)
