MMSS is a fabulous program. Perfect preparation for the Kellogg Program.
Swarthmore has fantastic Econ Depart. and unique Engineering Program (whose environmental engineering appeals to me).
Williams...I dunno...great natural environment I guess and whatever reasons for its being the first LAC in the States for several years.

I'm interested in business. I was thinking about iBank but the fact that because of the recession, Wall Street cuts 30% of its interns warns me that devoting all my time into getting into iBank is probably not the best idea. Then Swarthmore and Williams look more appealing because they do give their students more flexible education in discovering what they are interested in.

Which one shall I go to? Cheers!

Congratulations! All of them are great schools -- my guess is NU will prepare you well in Econ and Finance through MMSS and the Kellogg program and Swarthmore and Williams will prepare better in the liberal arts and make you a bit of a better rounded person. I found it really nice at NU that we have a huge Economics dept and also we have Kellogg -- this attracts great speakers and allows you many opportunities for research. And then I am sure the two liberal arts schools have a more personal touch to them. So whichever you like more go for it.

Thanks for your advice.

MMSS will place you better into finance, particularly better than swarthmore and also will edge out williams, but the campus environments at all three are very different.

I have heard the actual education at williams is absolutely top notch from someone who went to both northwestern and williams. the education at northwestern is obviously very good too but i was told the classes were much more intimate and involved at williams. you really have to decide what's best for you because the truth is, the best school is going to be the one you're happiest at and perform best at. Have you considered doing overnights at each place? It might help you decide

Thanks for helping me. I don't think I will be able to do overnights coz I live in China. But I'm talking to people studying at all three schools and trying to get a sense of their cultures.

from what i've heard, the culture at swarthmore is very academic-oriented, a lot of students go on to get PhDs.

northwestern is a very pre-professional school (especially MMSS) but the students aren't really very competitive with each other and the social scene is pretty prevelant

i don't really know much about williams except that it's in a small town and being a liberal arts school i'm sure has a pretty close student body
