model minority myth

hi, I am a college student with a sociology minor. I would like to hear opinons on the topic, by HIGH schoolers. In particular I want to find out how people's perception of themselves in soceity are changed as they become more informed, basically something close to "the identity crisis"

I am really conserned about how people keep using that model minority myth in front
of certain groups of people. What it does is keep these groups from seeking political groups to gain rights. I find it annoying that as-americans these days are easily pacified by this myth, in the long run, this is what's gonna hurt us.
Many as-americans these days are so ignorant of politics, compared to other groups, i'd say that we are the least knowledgable. We don't want to differentiate ourselves, so we ignore action groups that fight for equality.

is the model minority stuff bul.lsh.it?
please read this and tell me what you think

I am writing a thesis on this, so Please, moderators, don't delete this. I am not intending for this to be a radical debate thread. I simply want to hear opinons.

thanks.
