Model UN?

My school was just invited to be the part of the model un and I was wondering if I should join or not. I'm a senior, and I love to participate not only for the Adcoms but also for my interest in learning. So I was wondering if you guys can tell me what MUN is and what kind of activities you do? How many hours do you give up your time? And should I be part of this club if I'm a senior or should I not even worry about this?

Thanks in advance!

MUN is Model United Nations. It's just basically debating about controversial issues that plague our world today. Unfortunately, the countries are pretty boring like representatives from Argentina, Columbia, etc.
You do a lot of research, but it's very rewarding to debate in a conference at the end of all the research. Personally, MUN is fun.

A couple of my kids attended the MUN and had a great time. They learned many things about some relatively minor countries, and a few things about how to get people to vote for your resolution. ;)

I see. How many hours do you need to give up to participate in the MUN? And are there like teams? If so, how many students per team? Also how's the debate?

Give me more feedbacks!
