OK another question for students at Chicago:

Anyone a member of the Model UN club? I was on the site and it seemed really intense... I'm president of the club at my high school and I love it, so I'm wondering what it's like at the college level.

I’m not a student of UChicago (but am applying and hopefully will be accepted and attending!) but I messaged one of the girls that’s a part of MUN there since I’m in MUN in high school (it’s a class for me though) too and it’s a club you sign up for. It’s a bit of dedication (around an hour a week if not more from what I recall) depending on if you’re doing the high school conference (chairing), college conference (chairing), or part of the travel team (delegate). You can do all three or two or just one. Apparently the Ivy students tremble in their boots knowing they’re up against Chicago delegates Would make me mighty proud to be a part of MUN at Chicago hehe Hope this helps somewhat!

My daughter is a freshman at UChic. She tells me there a bunch of opportunities there regarding MUN. One that requires travel, and the one that doesn’t. Both are selective but not a big deal for someone wanting and motivated.
