Modern Language Requirements for Selective Schools

Hey everyone,

I'm currently a junior in high school and I have to pick my classes for senior year now.
I am taking French 3 Honors right now. If I continue French for next year, I will take French 4 (regular, not AP). I'm sick of French and do not enjoy it anymore. I do have a good grade, but I'm struggling--always cramming.

Would it look bad for selective schools if I only take 3 years of French and then take 1 year of Mandarin (Mandarin 1)? Or would it be worth it to endure French 4 so I will have then completed 4 years of the same language?

Selective college prefer you stick with the same language. You should look at the school websites and see how many years they recommend, not all recommend 4 years.
