The specs for the two of the Southside modular dorms for the mattress size are 36x77.5 and 77x36 (don't know why they are different). Would I need to purchase extra long twin sheets?

Also, do most roommates (primarily girls) get together with their roommate and coordinate bedding/decor?

i am not sure about the bed size. look up the size of a twin xl and go from there.

on the other question, seems to me that some do and some don’t. personally, i prefer it if both beds have the same bedding. the room is small and the more busy and different the beds are the smaller and clutterier the room seems to me. and since you might have to compromise on style, i think it is perfectly fine to choose one of the less expensive comforters/bedding sets available after about july 4th and go from there.

when did you deposit? are you sure you will get into one of the modular dorms?

We applied for housing and paid the deposit on October 2nd, so I would think she would get one of her top 3 choices - all modular South Side. If not, do they usually stay on the requested side of campus or type of dorm?

oh, if you deposited tht early, then you should be safe with one of your top 3.

i don’t know what happens if you don’t get one of your top choices. i would think maybe they would go by location, but i really don’t know.

in a late depositors case, do you think they would rather have (for instance) a modular dorm (if that was their preference) on the other side of campus, or a older dorm on the side they preferred?

Lol I never thought girls or anyone ever thought about planning the same bedding. Hasn’t even crossed my mind in rooms I’ve been in.

I’m at the foot of my bed right now and 36" for the width is correct.

I would say first of all type of dorm, especially since modular is the most expensive the university would most likely want to fill that up first. I think two girls I know didn’t have it on their top choices and ended up in Neeley (northside modular)

At least from my daughter’s perspective, her choice would be 1) side of campus and then 2) type of dorm.

My son had 3 Northside dorm preferences and ended up in Appelt (southside). I was told they try to honor the category (ie price) more than the location.

what AllThisIsNewToMe said is true in most cases. before coming here, i chose all northside balcony dorms and got a modular southside dorm, though picking earlier generally helps, there are no guarantees!

wow bth - i didn’t know anybody picked the balcony dorms!
