Guys, I’m looking for some mom and son matching outfits and I don’t know where to buy such things so can you please help me and recommend me some good variants
How old is the son and how dressy or casual are you looking for? Price range?
I’m hoping son is a baby. Googling “mom and son matching outfits” produced a lot of options, like this one, that eased my concerns over the adult version I was picturing.
I am fully expecting the OP to return and respond, “23.”
My first thought was The Goldbergs!
Ha ha. We can have fun with this.
OP, without knowing more it is difficult to answer, but here is a link about coordinating family outfits for photographs in case that is what you need.
Try to avoid this look.
Great links, guys-- one actually helpful and the other full of giggles.
I once had a seamstress from a craft fair make matching holiday vests for me and my daughter. It was casual corduroy style… I think my younger son later wore it.
For matching pajamas, all sorts of options at Lands End / LL Bean at the holidays.
Now the holiday PJs… we have been guilty of that. Grandparents all the way to the pets.
My 5 are between the ages of 18 - 25, they still love the matching pj’s (lands end or llbean, good quality because it’s the only pj’s they ever get).
The grands have insisted in matching outfit family photos but generally the guidelines are khakis on the bottom and white tops or something like that. Nothing too matchy matchy although they liked to get the kids matching outfits when they were little.
I’ve seen friends do Hanna Andersen matching stuff with their kids but I think that’s over the top.
We have had many matching PJs from Hanna Andersson and Lands End over the years. We wear them for opening presents NOT for any pictures. Hahaha. We coordinate but don’t match for family photos.
I have a very close friend who coordinates their whole family all the time! The two girls usually wear the same outfit and mom and dad are also coordinated. Any time they are out together, including the pool and beach. They also decorate their home inside and out for every holiday. When I first moved to the neighborhood I was sure I would not click with them at all. I was so wrong! They are fabulous… witty, hilarious and so much fun. They have a sense of humor about her obsession with the matching and decorating and totally own that she is just over the top!
Ha… just goes to show that you can’t judge neighbors by their “covers” (not a political comment - just a twist on the old “can’t judge a book by its cover” saying)
This would never work in my family other than one photo for my FIL’s 70th birthday photo of all his children and grandkids. We agreed on denim, khaki and white for the colors, in any combination you wanted.
My adult daughter is so anti matching, that is one of us has on the same color shirt as she does, she insists one of us change.
Anyone remember the Wooden Soldier? We had matching outfits for DD and DS just once from them. DD and I had at least a half dozen coordinated Laura Ashley dresses that we wore to special events.
We also are guilty of PJs from LL Bean for Christmas.
Loved the Wooden Soldier catalog. I bought outfits from there for DD and DS for photo shoot. It was a surprise for my H. The enlarged photo still hangs over the fireplace in the den. Its one of my favorite pictures of the kids.
I actually got a part time job at Laura Ashley to support my matching mother/daughter habit.
I went through the mom-DD matching Lilly Pulitzer phase. Neither my D nor I wear Lilly anymore. Every time she sees pictures of us all matchy-matchy she says I scarred her for life.
My S never was into matching with us. D and I had one matching outfit—tshirt dresses with ruffle and appliqués. There are many Hawaiian shirt matching outfits with mom or dad plus tons of tshirt options.
I remember now that years ago I found fun plaid flannel clothing in Lands End catalog. I got a jumper for my daughter and pants for younger son. (And I think jumper for me too.) It was pretty much the only dress she liked for church, so at clearance I bought it in bigger sizes too.
