Here is one very extensive list of IM abreviations, but not the one I've seen before:

Must read article in NYTimes

MTPop....if you are interested, this article is the topic of an entire thread on THIS forum, another thread on the Parent Forum, and another on the Theater Thread on the Arts Major forum.

I read that article. I wonder out of the 32 kids auditioning for talent agents sr. year, does that include CAP21? I thought ALL Cappies have a sr showcase. Hope I'm not misunderstanding this! And there are 300 Tischies each year, I THINK. 32 out of 300 isn't a great ratio....:(

RossJi, I'm losing track now as this article is the topic of three different threads on CC and now within this thread. I posted on one of the other ones about the Tisch showcases. The showcase in the article is for all of Tisch and yes, only 32 are selected to be in it. But CAP21 has started its own senior showcase this year for fourth year CAP kids. Every fourth year Cappie gets to be in that one. The All Tisch one is by audition/selection. A CAP student COULD be in that one as well, but not all will be. The fourth year CAP program is also having intensives with casting agents and other professionals who come in to work with them on auditions and give feedback. You can read any posts on those threads but that is the upshot of that.

I'm bumping this thread for the new dad who posted about being white knuckled and learning that his junior son wants to pursue MT as a degree and as a career. Go to the beginning of this thread for some pretty good discussion.
