Mom going back to school- TOTALLY CONFUSED ABOUT FINANCIAL AID

I need one of you to PLEASE help me....it has been awhile since I attended college (I completed 1 year at ISU), about 12 years and back then my parents paid so I never dealt with any of this. I am a married mother returning to school. I have 2 children, and I work part time. I applied for FAFSA...it says it was "Processed Successfully". I will be attending the community college (McHenry County College) to finish my gen eds, then hopefully moving on to finish my BA somewhere else. Our AGI on our 2010 taxes was $74,000. On my FAFSA our EFC is 05784. What are my chances for Aid? What does all of this mean? Thanks!

You have just missed the cut off for the PELL grant, so the only federal money that you are guaranteed to get are the Stafford loans. Depending on your total official cost of attendance at the school, some of those loan amount might be subsidized while you are in school. As far as any grants or other loans go, you need to discuss the matter with your college as what they have available is what dictates what you may get.
