Mom of bride or groom dress suggestions 2021-2022

Nice dress. I would wear something like these in a nude color.

Or these if you need a thicker heel for outdoors

Thank your for the suggestions. I think I better go with a thicker heel since there is tile around the pool outdoors and some of the surfaces may be a bit challenging with a thin heel.

Pretty dress! i would go with a silver or nude block heel.

@showmom858 With that gorgeous green, I think you could get away with almost any color. I like doing black because then I can wear the shoes on other occasions! Definitely side with a block heel for comfort and will look totally fine under the long gown.

@showmom858 my sister wore a hunter green dress that was similar to my D’s wedding. I was surprised but she wore a navy shoe and it looked nice. The reality is that you will barely see your shoe so I’d go with whatever color feels good to you.
@thumper1 the MOG wore your rosette dress in a steel grey. It was very pretty.

Did someone in this thread have a site and reviews about custom made dresses? Could they repost? I find it difficult to search and others were asking. Thanks.

Could be www.eshakti.com , which @Mom22039 originally posted about.

Thanks for the link & suggestion.

Sarah Mique makes dresses. They have a website and brochures at dress stores. Because they are made in my area, myself and others make appointments and go. One can choose the color, fabric, style, etc. my office manager is a size 2X, with blonde hair. A standard style dress, made in a golden color, looked amazing on her.

Thanks—good to know. D is very petite at 00. Maybe she can see if the have a store in LA and she can have a custom dress made.

I have large feet for my height and I love patent leather nude in flats or heels. Kind of disguise big feet! And match everything year round.

Hmmm, I haven’t worn patent leather much since I was a young child–it’s not widely available in most of the styles I look at. I’m fine with my large feet–they keep me upright and mostly keep me from tripping and falling.

Sometimes my big feet are the cause of my tripping!

Thanks! I posted at length in the wedding thread( which I meant to post in this dress thread).

So, I have been looking for months off and on for a MOG dress for next May with no luck and have gotten suggestions here in the past but that has been months ago.

It is actually son’s second wedding but first for me as first one last year was seen by immediate family on both sides only by zoom.

New dresses seem to be popping up recently . I found one by JS Collections that I like (Cecily) but would have to order online from Macy’s, Dillard’s or Nordstrom . I will see my daughter in law at Thanksgiving and will show it to her then to get her opinion and see if she has other suggestions. I am nervous about all this as I really don’t particularly enjoy dressing up unless I have to!

I’m still open to other suggestions for outdoor May wedding in Northern Virginia at a country inn type property. Thanks and hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

@soozievt !

Good timing for you to revive this thread @thumper1 since there has been some happy news on the wedding thread lately with new engagements!

I have always loved the look of this line (particularly the walk-through jumpsuits!) - very structured and not the same-old-same-old. They’re having a good Black Friday sale!

momofmab - wow, those are really different, you are right! I’ve never seen a walk-through-jumpsuit before! I like the subtle patterns on some of the dresses - interesting and elegant.
