Mom of bride or groom dress suggestions 2021-2022

I love how that blue dress is styled with the fascinator and retro shoes!

Yes, that’s it. Thanks, @HImom . I haven’t ordered yet but am thinking of it. They do have a restocking and shipping fee though if you return and don’t exchange for something else. I don’t plan to wear a fascinator! I have let my hair grow during the pandemic and will probably keep it that way at least until the wedding, in a ponytail. I have seen some nice barettes on Etsy.

The hat or a similar one is an elegant touch as well.

I agree but I’m sure I would be the only one with one on , so will pass for son’s wedding. A barette will have to do, no matter what dress I end up getting. Now, if I get invited to the next royal wedding, I’ll probably wear a fascinator!

I love the dress, but I could never deal with those sleeves!

sevmom - I do agree - dress hats are great, but sometimes can be a bit much, depending on the venue. I was working out coordinating outfits for D and I at a recent wedding (I know, lol) - tried on a bunch of hats but they did seem a little attention-getting, when the focus is to be on the couple.

Kid’s bridesmaids finally got their dresses! They all went to David’s Bridal - no luck. Tried the mall - nope. Thankfully, Dress the Population brand had quite a few nice choices… the dresses look like something they will be able to wear more than once, but they weren’t $50 either. Where do bridesmaids get their dresses nowadays?

My daughter in law found very well priced champagne colored bridesmaid dresses(different styles) for their May wedding on Adrianna Papell.(about $99). They were having a sale at the time and they currently have bridesmaid dresses on their site from about $30 (sale price) to $200+.

My daughter and several of her friends have used Birdy Grey. It’s online and the quality is decent for the price.

I know a few who have bought dresses from BHLDN.

My daughter has been in several weddings and has worn dresses from Lulus, BHLDN (Anthropology), and Show Me your Mumu.

My daughter in law’s wedding dress will be from BHLDN.

DD’s wedding dress and her MoH dress were from BHDN as was the dress she wore as bridesmaid in friends wedding. They were on sale and very reasonable.

My niece bought her wedding gown from BHLDN as well. It was lovely but alterations were rather expensive iirc.

DD purchased her wedding dress from a smaller local bridal shop. They also had bridesmaids dresses at various price points. DD chose the least expensive option ($110), and the color. The bridesmaids had a number of choices they could choose from. DD allowed them to choose a style they liked. I’m sorry, I don’t know the brand name, but maybe check a smaller bridal shop and see what they have.

The ladies looked at the current selection of dresses at BHLDN, and nothing fit the bill, unfortunately. The ones that would have worked (sizing and colors-wise) screamed “bridesmaid”! Lol.

My DIL told bridesmaid to wear dark green. One had a velvet gown, and the other 2 had dresses that fit them well.
I mean, all looked very nice, and each could wear the dresses again.

My daughter is in a wedding with 17 bridesmaids :flushed: The bride is struggling with bridesmaid gowns - she’s afraid that if they wear matching gowns, they’ll look like an army  She is leaning toward picking a color and brand of dress and then letting them each pick a style - but then she also needs to have some control over who picks what style so there’s not too many of one kind.

Oh wow! That is worse than herding cats! Hope she picked an “easy” color to find.

My bride to be kid has 3 bridesmaids, and her big sis is the MOH. Big sis got her dress and planned to wear it for holiday parties to get more bang for her buck, but due to Omicron the dress will likely see much less action than planned. :frowning:

Wow… 17 bridesmaids! Also 17 groomsmen?
