Curious about the many uniforms.. when they are boating.. they appear to be wearing Docksiders in the Photos?? or am I mistaken? How many various pairs of shoes are USNA Plebes issued? Anybody know?

Docksiders??? Brace yourself for more yacht club comments…..though I'm sure that's the appropriate footwear for the job.....as to how many I haven’t a clue but I’m guessing they have a ways to go before they close in on the Imelda Marcos trophy.. ;-)

Yep.. if you look in the DropShots from yesterday they appear to be wearing Docksiders in some photos. I wouldnt think they would want to wear their white shoes in the water as it appears they are all in the water at some point while sailing.

And the hair on the male plebes has really grown out in 2 weeks.

Mom2Lola: it's the "Yatch Club Look" :) (just kidding)

In all of my years of sailing we always have worn deck shoes - which is why topsiders are called deck shoes. Really they do dry out quickly and you can shed them in a hurry if you need.

My son refused to wear deck shoes all through high school as thinks they are way too preppy...last laugh was on him when he got issued topsiders and actually had to wear them!

My friend's daughter had to search all over the Northern Virginia area to find deck shoes in her size that weren't pink! Can you imagine? Uniform of the Day...Blue over Khaki with Pink deck shoes?? She got to the Mid Store too late to find the small sizes in the brown or even white.
