Moms and One-liners

Hehe, he's too much of a boy-idiot for that. We just got a picture of him with 5 buddies lying in the snow, wearing boots and cammie pants and no shirts. They had a major snowball fight (soon to be followed by major pneumonia, I fear).

Had a very productive scrapbooking day! Am up to NASS departure and arrival. Left my own fat rump out of the book (there must have been four cameras taking the photo that includes my butt- we all know that a camera adds ten pounds, so I must have had four).

Am geared up to do more.

Spidermom- he sounds like he's having fun. Sounds like something mine would do. Break out the antibiotics!

Gosh I love you people! You are a stitch! I'm taking it this is the forum where we're not limited in our speech? (ahem). S is giving me grief over my having t's crossed and i's dotted asap for I-Day... So, new plan on my front is to give him some $$ to buy his own stinking crew socks, boxers and t's, and leave mom out of it. I know he's capable...just seems like a few of the "last" things I can do on my part to get him prepped for I-Day. Hey... on the scrapbooking... (I am not a scrapbooker, but may have to become one with empty nest looming in June). I saw a scrapbook at a craft store here (A.J.W.....) that had "Navy" on the front, with Navy insignia on it. Handsome. Not sure if this will be my kiddo's style, or if he's more the Dirk Pitt/Sahara style of decorating... He likes it neat/tidy, though, so maybe a scrapbook is right. I know he's asking that his photo w/MCO, nomination certificate from MCO be nicely framed. Offer comes in it's own folder, but he may choose for that to be framed as well... Thoughts from y'all (not teasing w/the y'all. I'm an Okie by birth, and a TX transplant, by way of Oregon and Washington state to Maine... I do say y'all... and get ribbed for it here from the real "Maine-uhs" that say "ayuh" for yes...)

LOL!!! No doubt every mid-mom has at LEAST ONE of those in their home as we speak!!!!

I like the idea of giving him $$ to buy his own "white" unmentionables.

OK.. someone PM me what A.J. W... is. I am so lost.

Wait, they have scrapbooks at the Mid Store with the USNA Seal on it...much better!

One question: Are they post or strap scrapbooks?

Okay, hair pulling moment, here. My son's ALO e-mails, states he has info., asks boy to call him back at a certain number. The number isn't working.

I still dont know what AJ W.. is :(

E-Mail him back RIGHT NOW.

nurseypoo, Z's right...email him ASAP

As far as the albums, I think they're both but I'll double check! I'm planning a trip to the Mid Store in a couple of weeks. I bought a small photo album but haven't filled it yet

The boy did. I'm staying out of it. That man! He also signs his e-mails with his nickname, not Capt. Whatever my surname is. During the interview, I think I've told you guys this, he was more interested in my husband's AF career. Hub finally got up and locked himself in his den. Not to mention, this guy was a few hours late and ended up concluding at 2330 hrs.

Thank you, atrmom. I'd appreciate it!

Yeesh. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?

Wonder what our resident BGO's will have to say about that. Seems pretty damned unprofessional, if you ask me.

Our BGO was 180 out from this guy. Totally professional. Even when he saw my husband at the gym, never said anything about our son. Kept it very professional.

This guy, this ALO, I think is in the reserves, has never attended an academy and is just sketchy. Our son should have asked to switch ALO's. Better all the way around.

I want to know what an AJW is too!

nurseypoo - wow - the silent ALO and then suddenly call NOW kinda stuff. Odd.

Scrapbooking - gotta love it - I want one that has AFA on the cover - Does anyone know if the AFA store has nice scrapbooks too, or just Navy?

momofhopeful2011.... most of the craft stores around here carry several different versions of the scrapbook.... I have seen the seals of Navy, Army, Airforce and Marines.... sadly, not Merchant Marines or Coast Guard. Mind you... this is a national chain store (Michaels) ...

at the Midstore at the Naval Academy itself, we found a very similiar scrapbook, although this one had the USNA seal on it instead of the Navy Seal....

I am sure you will find airforce out there! Better yet, have your son "Go Navy" and save yourself the trouble!! ;)

So for scrapbooking.. I have all the photos of NASS , evey letter from USNA and Cong and Senator going back to March 05 when NASS first invited us to see the Gospel Choir at MLK Center downtown Atl. I made photocopies of all of them for the scrapbook as I want to keep the originals in slipcovers for the MUSEUM! LOL

So what dont I have so far? Mom's chime in here.

And I guess if I find out what AJ W... is I will go there and look for a USN Scrapbook to put it all in.

I cant wait to meet some of you on I-Day week and get your photos for the scrapbook too! How many days now? I guess we should start a countdown.

Does USMA and USAFA, etc have the same I-Day? It is June 27th for USNA. 141 Days!!

NAVY2010! Thanks for the MICHAELS lead on scrapbook! I think I will go thre now on way home from work.

and as for ...
"I am sure you will find airforce out there! Better yet, have your son "Go Navy" and save yourself the trouble!! "

That was funny!

^^^^ well, just thought you might like to join the parents on the winning side the next time Navy beats Airforce! ;)
