money besides FA?

Okay, my parents agreed to let me apply, but if I really want to attend boarding school I need some more money. Can anyone please tell me where I might be able do find a whole bunch of high school scholarships? Please help, I can't imagine myself not going to a boarding school. Thanks in advance

I honestly have never heard of any type of scholarship that pays your costs for boarding school other than financial aid and merit scholarships awarded through a particular school. There are programs out there to assist minorities in getting funding, but you would still have to qualify for the financial aid. In some families, grandparents and aunts and uncles will chip in to help the parents pay -- is that a possibility?

Are you saying that your parents said you could attend, but they wouldn't pay for it?

well my parents said I can attend if I get enough financial aid from the school, but i am worried that we won't get enough financial aid. So I am therefore looking for outside sources of money. any ideas

oh sry i forgot to answer your question, no that is not a possibility. thanks for trying though

my suggestion is that you do your best on applications and see what financial aid packages are offered. Apply to some schools where your stats are really good -- not just in the middle. Apply to a number of schools.

You really won't know if you will get enough money to attend until you have answers back in March.

I don't know of any outside sources for scholarships.

hey alex, same situation over here. I can only go ig i get almost a full ride. period. All we can do is cross our fingers. :)

PrepGate doesnt offer aid but gives you loans that you can pay back in small amounts.

Hope I helped :)

Taft has a bunch of scholarships as well! Check it out some time :)

Pretty much any school will offer almost a full aid package - IF the family has the need AND they really want the student.
Some schools have merit scholarships (very few). Check the web sites of the schools you are interested in.
There are a very few other outside sources of scholarships for secondary school students.
